Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Charge Master Coordinator to develop and maintain the Charge Master for our hospital. This role is essential for ensuring accurate assignment of codes to all hospital procedures and effective entry into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of coding standards, compliance regulations, and hospital billing processes.

Key Responsibilities: • Charge Master Development: • Create and maintain the Charge Master, ensuring it accurately reflects all hospital services, procedures, and related charges. • Regularly review and update the Charge Master to incorporate new procedures, changes in regulatory requirements, and pricing adjustments. • Coding Assignment: • Assign appropriate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes to all hospital procedures, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. • Collaborate with clinical staff and department heads to validate coding and pricing for new services. • EMR Integration: • Enter and update all codes and corresponding charges in the EMR system, ensuring data accuracy and integrity. • Work with IT and EMR vendors to ensure that the Charge Master is properly integrated into the EMR system for seamless billing processes. • Training and Support: • Provide training and support to clinical and administrative staff on Charge Master updates and coding practices. • Serve as a resource for questions regarding coding and billing processes. • Compliance and Auditing: • Monitor coding practices for compliance with internal policies and external regulations. • Participate in audits and reviews to identify discrepancies and areas for improvement in coding and billing practices. • Data Analysis and Reporting: • Analyze charge capture data to identify trends and opportunities for improved revenue cycle management. • Prepare reports on Charge Master changes, coding accuracy, and revenue impact for management review.

Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (RHIT or CCS certification preferred). • 3+ years of experience in hospital coding, charge master management, or revenue cycle management. • Strong knowledge of coding standards (CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10) and healthcare billing regulations. • Proficiency in EMR systems and billing software. • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
